In reply to @devlop_gaming "It doesn't": - needing an account to install (needing to use osbcure commands in the terminal to manipulate registries to bypass this) - keylogger - ai everywhere for no reason - trackers, everywhere, telemetry, microsoft knows what you type, what you see and what you want, and some are well hidden too - ads. do I need to say more ? Ads ? In my OS ? come on bro - bad optimization, like the application launcher being a react component lmaoooooooo - paid, all that for a bad experience - memory hogging like WHAT DOES WINDOWS NEED 8GB AT STARTUP FOR, in a basic cinnamon linux mint install it's like 1.4GB if you have a lot of services at startup - forced updates and reboot like wtf why do I need to reboot for changes on my application to apply just apply them ? GNU/Linux distros don't have this problem except for kernel updates which you literally need to reboot (reboot=reload the kernel) and even then you can just not update if you don't want to - bloatware. WHY DO I NEED XBOX STUFF ???? I DON'T WANT THEM DON'T PUT THEM ON MY OS - fragmented settings. Control Panel ? Settings ? Hidden command in the terminal ? Something you can never change because some lazy dev at microsoft hardcoded it ? Good luck finding out - file explorer find. Do I need to say more ? - over reliance on the cloud and service I don't control. Why would you send my 2TB of totally legally downloaded games and content to the cloud ? and why automatically ? - horrendous developer experience. Have you tried having a correct workflow with C on windows ? No ? That's impossible and that's why they created WSL to make windows less shitty The only reason people don't use linux is because of 2 things: - ignorance, they don't know such alternatives exist - incompatible softwares/games (which is currently games with anticheats, a few AAA games and the adobe suite)
