Canadian university, haha. They've been really cracking down on security lately.
Sucks. Latest policy is also to not give anyone admin access to their PC, which
makes life kind of hard. I managed to get an exemption to that one, but I'm not
sure how long it'll last. Especially now that I "downloaded malicious software"
I bet they'll try to remove my precious admin access :(.

We have some research equipment that don't have DHCP and require the user to
plug in an ethernet cable and manually set the IP on their laptop to the right
subnet. Can't do that in windows without admin access.
