In reply to @python36_08342 "Hi everyone! I’ve been": I think I've written my thoughts on this elsewhere but to my knowledge there is no current official process for this with respect to nim-lang/packages. I for one would be upset if I select a package written by one author (implying I trust their code and security practices) and receive something written by someone else. Answers: 1. I think allowing users to "take" an existing package name without the consent of the original maintainer is needless and a security risk. Submitting a package with a new or slightly altered name is fine though to me (license allowing) (please don't use a nim- prefix they are all nim libraries lol). 2. Not currently, I've argued that it should only be acceptable with the consent of the original maintainer. 3. Make a new package and announce it on the forum. If someone needs an up-to-date i18n library they can update their own deps to point to the updated package.
